Kester Avenue Magnet is a gifted/high ability magnet for 256 students from 1st through 5th grade. This program shares a campus with Kester Elementary (also referred to as the home school). Together, Kester Avenue Elementary and Kester Magnet form one school with a diverse student body as well as active parents and dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff, who are committed to bringing a top-quality education to all Kester students.
KAMPA (Kester Avenue Magnet Parents Association) is the booster club responsible for handling additional fundraising for various magnet expenses. The ongoing decline in LAUSD funding for gifted education has made it necessary for parents to step in to preserve the supplementary enrichment programs and educational supports needed to maximize the academic potential of our gifted/high ability students. For more information about KAMPA, please contact Jennifer Brown through the Magnet Office or check out the KAMPA website.
